The Hello Approach began long before it ever actually "began". In late 2007, Nicky J and Nate Burow were hanging out at a mutual friend’s house. From seemingly out of nowhere, someone exclaimed “Let’s write a pop song”. Coming from completely different musical backgrounds- Nicky J from more of a hardcore background, and Nate from more of a Rock background- one would’ve thought it would be quite a challenge, but within an hour the basic layout for THA’s first song “Road Trips For Closure” was created.
After that meeting, the song was all but forgotten about until mid-2008, when Nicky J and Nate were now living together in an apartment. Late one night, wide awake on Red Bull and Ramen Noodles, Nate started plucking at his acoustic guitar and Nicky J chimed in with a vocal accompaniment not too long after. Within a few minutes, the boys were remembering the song they had created a over half year prior. This first practice was cut short by the pounding through the floor/ceiling of the upstairs tenant. Nevertheless, The Hello Approach was born.
The Hello Approach recorded some demos which caught the attention of over 35,000 fans on Myspace. With those demos, the band played tons of shows including going on three East Coast/Midwest tours. During this time, the guys used many friends and hire-on musician for performances, but never found that connection they were hoping for. In September 2009, following a tour-gone-wrong and feeling the decline in activity on Myspace, The Hello Approach went on a hiatus.
Flash forward to present day. The boys have found a second guitarist, Matty Busco- talented, dedicated, oh and shall we say… good-looking? After some writing, the boys recorded their debut EP, “Some Things Are Constant”, which shows a slightly more mature side to themselves, while still delivering their pop and passion that fans have come to know and love.
Back and better than ever, this band is officially off hiatus and ready to take on anything that comes their way!
